I feel pretty good about myself in the role of fun dad, but now that my kids are older, maybe I’m a bit out of my league. As I was driving them to school one morning, they were both very tired. I kept the radio at a low volume…until Another Brick In The Wall came on. I thought this would be the perfect drive-to-school anthem to wake them up. After a few bars of my wonderful singing, my son said that he couldn’t handle it anymore. So, I turned the radio down and asked him if the music was too loud. He said, “No. The music is fine. I can’t handle YOU!” #MissionAccomplished
A few days later, I was saying goodnight to my daughter and asked her where her telephone was because I didn’t want her to fall asleep with it in her bed. She just looked at me and said, “Telephone? It’s a phone, dad.” I guess I’d never thought about that. When did I outgrow my hipness? Maybe I never was hip. That reminds me, my hip hurts and I have to do my stretches. #HowMayIDirectYourCall
